Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e1000 (53G38AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I have Hp Victus 16. Features: AMD Ryzen5 6600h 4GB Rtx3050Ti 8GB RAM Windows 11 These days, I am having problems with the processor temperature of my computer and since the warranty of the device is still valid, I cannot open and maintain it. Overheating occurs mostly when I plug it into the charger and play games. Even if my processor usage is 15%, the processor temperature can rise to 95 degrees. Moreover, when I open a game while it is plugged in, the temperatures go up to 40 degrees. It's starting to rise to 90 degrees... How can I find a solution to this? Please reply quickly.

Hi @Hydra09,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Overheating issues can be quite concerning, especially with a gaming laptop. Here are some steps you can take to address the problem.

Update Drivers and BIOS:

  • Ensure that your graphics card drivers and BIOS are up-to-date. HP often releases updates that can help with thermal management and performance.

Check Power Settings:

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings and select the High performance power plan. You might also want to adjust the Maximum processor state in the advanced settings to reduce the CPU's performance to a manageable level.

Adjust In-Game Settings:

  • Lower the graphics settings and resolution in your games. Reducing the workload on the GPU can help in lowering the overall temperature.

Improve Airflow:

  • Make sure that the vents and fans are not obstructed. Place your laptop on a hard, flat surface to allow for proper ventilation. Using a laptop cooling pad can also help improve airflow and cooling.

Clean Vents and Fans:

  • While you mentioned that you cannot open the laptop due to warranty restrictions, check if there are any vents or cooling areas that are easily accessible for cleaning. Use compressed air to blow out dust and debris.

Monitor Temperatures:

  • Use monitoring software like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to keep track of your CPU and GPU temperatures. This can help you understand if the temperatures are normal under different conditions.

Power Adapter Issues:

  • Sometimes, using a power adapter with a higher wattage than needed can contribute to overheating. Make sure you’re using the correct power adapter for your laptop.

Thermal Paste Replacement:

  • Although you cannot open the laptop due to warranty restrictions, if you feel comfortable in the future, replacing the thermal paste can significantly improve cooling.

By following these steps, you should be able to manage or mitigate the overheating problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
