Hello,
I'm working with an HP Omen 15" since 2015. It used to be on windows 8 at that time.
I update a few month ago to Windows 10 and since then one of the fan is running pretty much to it's maximum, and it's very noisy !
I can't find any solution to keep the fan at it's normal speed. According to Intel Extreme Tunning Utility, the temperature is 47°C so it doesn't seem to be a CPU problem. SpeedFan is not abble to tell me the speed of the fans, or the temperature of the GPU.
The HP Omen Control is not usefull either.
By the way, the fan causing the noise problem is the left one under the keyboard (from a writer point of view).
Can anyone help me ?
Thanks.
PS: excuse my English, it's not my native language.

OK Thanks.
That model is HP OMEN Notebook - 15-5000nf (ENERGY STAR).
That looks like it was the very first bios (F.05) that came stock for that model.
The bios should be F.46. It should be able to be updated directly without using a previous number.
Use this file to update with... sp92955.exe
Download it and double click the file to run the update. Have the laptop plugged in to the AC cord when doing so and have nothing else running at the time.
Drivers page link... https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-omen-15-5000-notebook-pc/7281265/model/7602485
Other than that, all I could think of is to try a Clean install of Windows 10 which would wipe whats on there and reinstall the OS. You would want to have your personal data backed up onto an external drive first.
Then the drivers and Omen Control Center would have to be added on after.
Try updating the bios first.

Hello @Franklin8
I dont know if I can solve the issue, but I can offer a suggestion.
First, its important to include the full model or product number so we can better know what the system is.
Did you upgrade to Win 10 or clean install?
What is the bios version?
If you have the HP Support assistant installed, open it and you can find both the product number and what bios version is installed. IF not, you can reboot and rapidly tap the F1 key at startup for the info menu (before Windows opens).

Hi,
Well, I tried what you said. But the bios update is not allowed : "bios update blocked on this device"; but I can use the two other option.
I also tried to flash the bios by the press B key + Win key when lauching the computer, but it reinstall the previous version. So now I do have the F.00 version, ahah.
Do you have an ohter solution to update the bios, before going on a Win 10 install.

In that link I sent above for the drivers page, go to Bios and then over to Previous versions tab.
Scroll down to the earliest one version F.32. Download that one and see if it will install.
Does that one work or does it do the same thing??

Hi.
My problem is solved !
I managed to update the bios to F42 by copying the document on an usb drive and then by the F2 procedure when launching the computer.
Well their is a very smal noise now, but probably because the PC is 4 years old now ...
Thanks very much.
