Hi @Abd24,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear about your HP Omen 16 not working. There could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can follow to diagnose and potentially fix the problem.
Check the Power Source
- Power Outlet: Ensure the power outlet is working by plugging in another device.
- Power Adapter: Check if the power adapter is functioning. If possible, try using another compatible power adapter to see if the laptop charges.
Inspect the Battery
- Battery Connection: If you can access the battery, make sure it’s properly connected.
- Battery Reset: Some laptops have a small pinhole reset button. Use a paperclip to press and hold it for about 10-15 seconds.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- Remove the battery (if it’s removable).
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any remaining power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning on the laptop.
Check for Physical Damage
- Inspect the charging port and power adapter for any signs of damage.
- Look for any visible damage to the laptop itself, such as cracks or loose components.
Test with External Display
- Connect the laptop to an external monitor to check if the display is the issue.
Listen for Beeps or Lights
- Some laptops emit beeps or have LED indicators that can signal specific problems. Refer to your laptop’s manual for beep codes or LED indicators.
Remove Peripherals
- Disconnect any external devices (USB drives, external keyboards, mice, etc.) and try turning on the laptop.
Inspect Internal Components (if comfortable)
- If you're comfortable opening your laptop (and it won’t void your warranty), check internal components such as RAM and SSD for proper seating.
Possible Causes
- Power Supply Issues: Faulty power adapter or battery.
- Hardware Failure: Internal components such as the motherboard, RAM, or hard drive may have failed.
- Firmware/BIOS Issues: Corrupted firmware or BIOS settings could prevent startup.
- Overheating: Prolonged overheating can damage internal components.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello I had the same issue and I managed to fix it via the solution you posted, so thank you. I had this issue on the very first day of using the laptop so is this an issue that is reoccuring? I was playing a game and plugged in the ac adapter and the screen just froze. For someone that has never owned a gaming laptop, my question is that are you supposed to game on this laptop with or without the ac adapter plugged in and do you ever remove it?
