The RTX 2060 model right?

Yes, all models with a RTX have a 144Hz panel. This is pretty much the standard nowadays anyway, unless you have a 4k/8k display. These are mostly 60 Hz.

I wouldn't take that as gospel just yet unless you have actual proof of such a blanket statement. HP does not specify this in the manual and what is standard for other MFG's, isn't necessarily that way for HP.

If you look up the part numbers in the HP Parts Surfer for that exact model, it states the unit only came with a 60Hz panel, regardless of it having an RTX 2060.  I have found that when I assume something with HP, it will always come back and bite me.   Just saying.  😉

HP does have its specs all screwed up for the 17-cb series. I have put in a request for bringing the manuals and specs up to date, but I don't know how long that will take them.

Well, that's actually pretty troublesome for two reasons:

-I actually called HP support and they told me exactly what I stated in my statement, it's not something that just came to my mind randomly. Now it might be that the information I was given was only true for the country I'm based in, but I doubt that.

-As I said previously, I saw the model with a RTX 2060 and a 144Hz display since a friend of mine purchased one. Again, might be a local thing, but anyway this indicates that the parts surfer information might not be up to date.

Yep and like I was saying, these things can bite one in the tukas .

The rep you spoke to, if he was only a tier one support agent, may have been reading the specs for your model and assumed also. It wouldn't be the first time, Ive had tier one support give wrong info before (not often but, sorry HP). 🙄

Considering how many versions of that series are made, HP will make units to fit various price points as they have done for years. So ya its very possible there could be only 144Hz are available in your country, but worldwide there are going to be lots of variations.

Anyways, Ill see what happens with my query and report back if I get anything.
