Here’s my model. Does this have 2 slots so I can install the 1tb ssd and the 128gb?

Well I cant read any other language than English, but I see that its a 17-cb0000 series.

Edit, I see you changed the image after I responded. 🙂

Yes that Samsung NVMe should work. But if you seek two slots, you need to open the case and look.

Sometimes HP will leave an M.2 slot out if that model doesn't come with one from the factory.

Your manual...

Thank you for the fast response. One more question. If I upgrade to 1tb ssd will it be x4 or x2 ? In other words will my omen run x4 lanes or only x2?

That is a good question and one I have been trying to find out with those models, but no one has ever responded back to me what they found. 🙄

My suspicion was that one of the ports would be wired at x4 while the other one x2.  Reason being is the manual says that system is compatible with both NVMe and Sata M.2.  Those drives listed in the manual btw are only what HP decided to ship them with, nothing more.

Now I was taught that when M.2 is compatible with both, 2 PCI lanes are given up to make it compatible with Sata. But I have also had people claim their multi-compatible m.2 ports are running their x4 drives at x4 speed. So I'm not sure what to tell you at this point. But I do know that now days, 3x4 drives are about the same price as 3x2 drives, so I would still get a 3x4 drive anyway.  I am not too hot on Samsung drives anymore as their prices are so high (you're paying for the name). I found (for example) Sabrent drives run just as fast, 5 year warranty and cost less.

If you do install whatever drive, Please let me know how it tests out. Use a tool like CrystalDiskMark.

Yeah I was looking at the sabrent also which is $119 on amazon and the Samsung is $149 on sale. Yes I’ll get back to you when I install. Thank you for your help.
