Hi everyone, I play Valorant CS and during gameplay, the W and S keys either don't work at all or flicker for 5-10 seconds. What kind of problem is this? Would you recommend sending it in for warranty repair?

Hi @ardagg54,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

Based on your description, this issue could be caused by one of the following:

  1. Software or Driver Conflicts: Sometimes, keyboard drivers or system updates may affect key responsiveness, especially during high-performance tasks like gaming.
  2. Keyboard Hardware Issue: There may be a problem with the physical keyboard, such as a loose connection or a manufacturing defect.
  3. Game-Specific Input Issues: Certain games may occasionally conflict with key inputs due to software settings or third-party overlays.

Recommended  troubleshooting steps:

  1. Update Drivers: Make sure your keyboard and chipset drivers are up to date via HP Support Assistant or the HP website.
  2. Test Outside the Game: Open a text editor (Notepad, Word) and press the W and S keys repeatedly to see if the issue persists. If it does, this points more toward a hardware problem.
  3. Check for Software Conflicts: Close unnecessary background applications or overlays that may interfere with keyboard input.

If the issue continues after performing these steps, it may indicate a hardware defect, and we recommend contacting HP warranty support for a repair or replacement

I hope this helps.
