OMEN Laptop - 15-en0013dx
Microsoft Windows 11

So i'm wondering if there is any updates to this thread: WSL2 / HyperV is causing BSOD on HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 1... - Page 4 - HP Support Community - 78...

I have an OMEN 15-en with Windows 11 Education Edition. When trying to enable HyperV/Windows Sandbox it restarts, then I get the blue screen of death "something is wrong," I put the machine into safe mode and it reverts back to normal. There are known issues with teh Realket Gaming GbE controller. I previously had HyperV/Sandbox enabled (i think this was in Windows10) - but this disabled my Ethernet ports (wifi only).

Is there any work around that anyone has figured out?

  1. I have windows updates up to date.
  2. I have used the HP assistant to check for any updates.
    1. HP Assistant Driver Updates does not have a drop down for Windows 11 driver updates, only 10....
  3. I have checked for firmware updates, and it shows none, current Driver Version is 10.0.22621.1 which shows a date of 6/21/2006 which doesn't seem right?

I'm not sure if it's the BIOS, but the Omen Bios doesn't have a "Check for updates feature," and yes I have checked BIOS that virtualization is enabled, same with checking use cmd commands. Is there really no fix for this????

Hi @Andriy888,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your OMEN 15-en with Windows 11 Education Edition. . Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Please try the following Troubleshoots steps.

1.    Turn off the Unit.

2.    Disconnect the AC adapter.

3.    Remove any discs from the disc drive.

4.    Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.

5.    Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.

6.    Disconnect the AC adapter press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.

7.    Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.

Step 2

Turn off the unit and please press and hold the Windows key + letter B key and the power button together for 30 seconds after 30 seconds, 1st release the power button but keep holding the Windows key and B key for ten more seconds and then release these two keys If done correctly, you will see the display flashing once. Please attempt it thrice as this step and Restart the unit

Step3

The unit has to be turned off, Press Win+ V while holding these two keys then Press the Power button, continue to hold all three keys for 30 seconds and then release the Power button first and then release these two keys Please attempt it thrice  and then you may get a Pop-Up CMOS Check and it will restart the unit

Even if you don't get a Pop-up restart the unit manually after 3 attempts.

And please check for Windows and HP updated and if any please update it and post that as well

Also, try updating the bios, and firmware network drivers - Click here
