Hi @JABBAph1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand the camera on your Victus by HP 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa1000 is not working, and the usual troubleshooting methods have not helped. Let’s go through a few targeted steps that commonly resolve this issue on the Victus series.

1. First, check Windows camera permissions:

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera
  • Make sure:
    • Camera access is ON
    • Let apps access your camera is ON

2. Check Device Manager:

  • Right-click Start → Device Manager
  • Expand:
    • Cameras
    • Imaging Devices
  • If you see the camera:
    • Right-click → Enable device (if disabled)
    • Or choose Uninstall device
    • Restart the laptop

3. Scan for hardware changes:

  • In Device Manager, click:
    • Action → Scan for hardware changes

4. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Turn the laptop off
  • Turn it back on and tap Esc repeatedly
  • Press F2 for Diagnostics
  • Check if a Webcam test appears under Component Tests

5. Check BIOS:

  • Restart the laptop and tap F10
  • Look under:
    • System Configuration
    • Built-in Device Options
  • Make sure the integrated camera is enabled if the option is available

If the camera does not appear at all in Device Manager, BIOS, or HP Diagnostics, this can sometimes indicate a hardware-level issue with the camera module or cable connection on some Victus systems.
