How can I get a Home key on this PC? I have no need for an Omen key but the Home is used a lot.
I see many people asking for this. Can HP fix the problem, please?
PS If the solution include uninstalling the HP Apps, that would be fine.

Hello @AGN1964
I can tell you from experience that HP wont be forwarding a fix to change the Home key as it is.
There are only two ways to use Home key to function as Home key, not open the OCC.
1. Use the FN key + OCC key to access home key.
or
2. One user found this tool to change the registry key to alter the way its accessed. I don't have an Omen laptop to test with, but a couple of users say it worked for them... https://github.com/randyrants/sharpkeys
Download SharpKeys 3.9: MSI or ZIP | requires .NET Framework 4.0
How to use...

Thats all I can offer. I do not work for HP.

Is this the post you said you edited? Thanks. I already found the installer and instructions (I am a programmer, so no problems with GitHub).
However, I could only find posts here saying this option did not work. I could try it, I suppose.
I know the FN-Omen key option, too, thanks. But as a touch-typist, I don't want to unlearn 30 years of practise.
If HP can't help users with this this simple and obvious issue, I am expecting many, many problems down the road.

Ya all you can do is try it out. For every person who says something works, there will be another who says it don't. You know how that goes.
I would say if the Home key is really that important to you and the hack above doesnt work, I would get a refund before its too late and get something else.
Don't wait for HP to change something like this. They might stop doing the Omen key on future models, but I can safely bet nothing will be changed for present models. Just my opinion.

Thanks.
Have you seen someone say it works? When I google "omen home SharpKeys" all I see is suggestions to try it, sometimes with people saying it did not work. If I saw a post where it works, I could try to replicate what they did.
(My guess that HP have a low level utility running that intercepts the key stroke. That seems much easier than building a special keyboard where one key has special handling. They could easily come here are tell us what to disable so the Omen key generates a normal keystroke that can mapped to Home. Or they could say it's custom hardware and we are wasting our time trying to turn this into a normal keyboard. Either way, it would take them less time that I have spend posting here.)

Me too. I am not a gamer - just a busy CPA accountant who needs a powerful 17" laptop to run lots of client accounting and Excel spreadsheets.
For my Excel work, I need the Home and End keys back !
