I recently purchased an HP Victus laptop (July 2024), and I am facing an issue where the AMD Radeon™ RX 6500M graphics card is not being detected in the OMEN Gaming Hub.

Laptop Specs:

  • Model: HP Victus
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 5
  • OS: Windows 11 Home Single Language
  • GPU: AMD Radeon™ RX 6500M

Issue Details:

  • The AMD Radeon RX 6500M does not appear in OMEN Gaming Hub.
  • I checked Device Manager and Task Manager—sometimes the GPU is missing or only the integrated GPU is visible.

Hi @shreyashdamodar, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
This issue could be caused by driver conflicts, BIOS settings, or Windows updates affecting the AMD Radeon RX 6500M detection. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve it:

Check Device Manager for Hidden Devices

  1. Open Device Manager (Press Win + X → Click Device Manager).
  2. Expand Display Adapters.
  3. If the AMD Radeon RX 6500M is missing, click ViewShow hidden devices.
  4. If it appears but is grayed out, right-click and Uninstall device, then restart.

Install the Latest AMD Drivers

  1. Download AMD Auto-Detect Tool from AMD’s official website.
  2. Let it detect and install the latest Radeon RX 6500M drivers.
  3. Restart your laptop after installation.

Check BIOS Settings

  1. Restart the laptop and enter BIOS (Esc or F10 during boot).
  2. Look for Graphics Configuration or Advanced Settings.
  3. Ensure Switchable Graphics is enabled.
  4. Save and exit BIOS.

Update OMEN Gaming Hub

  1. Open Microsoft Store → Go to Library → Check for OMEN Gaming Hub updates.
  2. If it's outdated, uninstall and reinstall it from the HP website.

Reset OMEN Gaming Hub Settings

  1. Open OMEN Gaming Hub.
  2. Click Settings (gear icon).
  3. Reset all settings and restart the app.

Disable Windows Automatic Driver Updates

  1. Open SettingsWindows UpdateAdvanced options.
  2. Turn off Receive updates for other Microsoft products.
  3. Use AMD’s official drivers instead of Windows updates.

Perform a Clean Graphics Driver Reinstallation

  1. Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from wagnardsoft.com.
  2. Run it in Safe Mode to remove all AMD drivers.
  3. Reinstall fresh AMD drivers from their official website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
