Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb2000 (9V7M9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I always regret buying anything " hp " but it was a dumb choice.

It's a brand new and the fan " whistling" drives me crazy!

I've tried almost everything that mentioned on other post.

The sh!t thing is no one is gonna buy it even of it's a new laptop.

How to solve this sh!t?

Hi @ibrax,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your frustration with the HP Victus 15's fan whistling. It's not uncommon for certain laptops to have annoying fan noises, especially if the cooling system is running at higher speeds. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps that might help.

Update BIOS and Drivers:

Ensure your BIOS and drivers are up to date, as manufacturers often release updates to address fan behavior:

  • Go to HP Support and enter your laptop's model number to download the latest BIOS and driver updates.

Adjust Power Settings:

Sometimes, adjusting the power settings can help with fan noise:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options, and select Power Saver mode.
  • Alternatively, open HP Command Center (if installed) and select the Performance or Thermal Management options to set a quieter fan profile.

Use Third-Party Software:

You can try software like SpeedFan to control fan speeds manually, though not all systems allow full control.

Clean the Fans:

Although it’s brand new, dust or debris can sometimes cause strange noises. Try carefully blowing compressed air into the vents to clear out any particles.

Check for High CPU Usage:

High CPU usage can force the fan to spin faster, leading to whistling. Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to see if there are any background processes causing the issue. End unnecessary processes to reduce fan speed.

Use a Cooling Pad:

A laptop cooling pad can help reduce the internal temperature, causing the fans to spin slower and quieter.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
