Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Greetings,

I have been noticing different CPU usage readings between Windows Task Manager and Omen Command Center. While the Task Manager states a 100% usage, the Omen Command Center rarely goes above ~60%.

Is there any fix for this? Which of the readings might be the accurate one? Does it have any impact on the CPU performance since Omen Command Center tends to "control" power settings?

I have reinstalled OCC multiple times to no avail.

Thanks.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the task manager and Omen command center are showing different CPU temperatures.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Have you performed any troubleshooting steps?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Dear The_Fossette,

Thank you for your time.

Please note that the incorrect readings are regarding CPU utilization and not temperatures.

I have already updated the BIOS through HP support assistant tool and the graphics drivers are indeed up to date.

The incorrect readings persist.

Thank you.

Dear the_Fossette,

I have reverted the bios to its default state as advised but the readings are still off. The problem still persists.

3rd party tools such as cpu-z and HWMonitor all agree with the Command Center's CPU usage, which leads me to think that the taks manager readings are the problem here.

Awaiting your reply.

Thank you.

Since the issue right now seems to be with the Task Manager reading wrong data, I suggest you perform a Reset and let me know how it goes
