Adding multiple monitors to a laptop can be a bit tricky, especially if you're trying to get three separate displays rather than duplicates. Here are some steps and tips to help you set it up correctly for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2):

1. Check Laptop Specifications
Ensure your laptop's graphics card supports multiple external monitors. Many integrated GPUs may only support two displays (the laptop screen plus one external).
2. Use the Right Adapter
A 1-to-3 HDMI splitter typically mirrors the output, meaning all monitors will display the same content. For multiple independent displays, consider using a USB-to-HDMI adapter or a Docking Station that supports multiple displays.
3. Update Graphics Drivers
Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Go to the manufacturer’s website (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) to download the latest drivers.
4. NVIDIA Control Panel Settings
Open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
Under "Set up multiple displays," see if all your monitors are recognized.
If they are, you can arrange them and set them to extend the display rather than duplicate.
5. Windows Display Settings
Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
You should see all connected monitors here. Make sure to choose "Extend these displays" instead of "Duplicate".
6. Performance Considerations
Running ETS2 across multiple monitors can be demanding. Ensure your laptop can handle the increased load. You may need to lower game settings for optimal performance.
7. Alternative Software
For specific games, consider using software like NVIDIA Surround or SoftTH, which can help manage multi-monitor setups in gaming.

after errors caused by my computer ignorance I have connected from the thunderbolt3 port to a monitor, from the mini display port to monitor and from HDMI port to a monitor and all three plus the laptop show up in NVidia control panel but the hard part follows, I have seen a few video's on youtube showing how to connect for triple screen play but I am going to have to go really slow following it as ...older I got the slower I got haha..
