I'm trying to update my BIOS to avoid the 14th gen Intel microcode issue from destroying my cpu but I'm unable to find the correct installation for this model of laptop on the hp support website. When I've looked, nothing is listed. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I found the problem, the website wouldnt list anything without my current os, which is conveniently in small text and not listed as a requirement.

Hi @Hyper_,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you're trying to update the BIOS on your HP Victus 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop (model 16-r1000) to address the Intel 14th Gen microcode issue but are unable to find the appropriate BIOS update on the HP support website. Let's go through the steps to locate and install the correct BIOS update.

Locating the Correct BIOS Update

Visit the Official HP Support Page:

Navigate to the official HP support page for your model: HP Victus 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop 16-r1000 Drivers & Downloads.

Enter Your Product Information:

If prompted, enter your laptop's serial number or select your model manually to ensure you access the correct drivers and updates.

Check for BIOS Updates:

Under the "BIOS" section, look for the latest BIOS version available. This update may include the necessary microcode updates for Intel 14th Gen processors.

Download the BIOS Update:

If a BIOS update is available, download the executable file to your laptop.

Installing the BIOS Update

Prepare for Installation:

Ensure your laptop is connected to a reliable power source.

Close all running applications and save your work.

Run the BIOS Update:

Locate the downloaded BIOS update file and double-click to run it.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. The system may restart several times during the process.

Do Not Interrupt the Process:

Avoid turning off or restarting your laptop during the BIOS update to prevent potential issues.

Alternative Methods

HP Support Assistant:

If you have the HP Support Assistant installed, it may automatically detect and prompt you to install the latest BIOS update.

Windows Update:

Some users have reported that Windows Update can deliver BIOS updates. Check for updates in Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Important Considerations

Model Variations:

Ensure you're downloading the BIOS update specifically for the 16-r1000 model. Other models in the Victus 16 series may have different BIOS versions.

Microcode Updates:

BIOS updates often include microcode updates for processors. However, if the specific microcode update for Intel 14th Gen processors is not listed, it may not be available yet.

I hope this helps.
