Hi @Vedika1_,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Omen Gaming Laptop might be experiencing a hardware issue. Here's how you can troubleshoot it step by step.
Immediate Steps to Troubleshoot:
Check the Power Source:
- Ensure the wall outlet is working by plugging another device into it.
- Use a different outlet to rule out power issues.
Inspect the Charger:
- Check the charger for visible damage (frayed wires, bent pins, etc.).
- Ensure the charger is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
- If you have access to another compatible charger, try using it to rule out a faulty adapter.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the charger.
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge residual power.
- Plug the charger back in and try turning on the laptop.
Check for External Indicators:
- Look for any faint lights (charging or keyboard backlight).
- Listen for fan or drive activity indicating that the laptop is attempting to power on.
If the Above Steps Don’t Work:
Test Battery Issues:
- Remove the battery (if removable), connect the laptop to the charger, and try powering it on without the battery.
Inspect for Overheating or Other Damage:
- If the laptop was under heavy use (gaming or editing), let it cool for 30 minutes and try again.
Use Emergency Data Recovery Tools:
- If the laptop doesn't power on, consider removing the internal storage drive and using an external enclosure or adapter to access your files from another computer. This will ensure you have access to your critical data.
Data Backup Recommendation:
For future safety, consider backing up your files to an external hard drive or a cloud service like Google Drive or OneDrive. This ensures you can access your work even if the laptop fails unexpectedly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
