Hi I notcied that HP Pavilion keyboard keeps turning off every 30 seconds of inactive use, i have seen other reviews saying the same thing. Is there a way to keep it on without having to keep pressing the keys? Does anyone know if this is only on power saving mode or when unplugged? Please help!

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to keep the keyboard backlight always on.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
If the blacklight stays on for only a few seconds, the backlight timeout setting might need configuring in the BIOS.
NOTE: If there is not a setting for the backlight timing in the BIOS, this behavior might not be supported on the notebook. Check your notebook model's product support documentation to confirm support.
Your BIOS version and screens might vary.
-
Restart the notebook, and then immediately press the F10 repeatedly until the BIOS opens.
-
When the BIOS opens, use the arrow keys to navigate to the Advanced tab.
-
Navigate to Built-in Device Options, and then press Enter.
-
In the Built-in Device Options, select Backlit keyboard timeout.
-
Press the spacebar to open the keyboard backlight settings, and then select the timeout setting you want.
NOTE: If you select Never, the backlight remains on which could quickly drain the notebook battery power.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Good afternoon Mr. Angelocs,
Thank you for your clear explanation, however I am afraid this it is not going to work for me, because my BIOS does not has the "ADVANCED" tab.
Do you know another way to switch on my keyboard lighting continuously or with longer time intervals?
I work with the Gaming Pavilion 17-cd0700nd notebook.
Cheers,
Arie

Hallo The_Fossette
Tnx for your quick reply, however I understand you are not able to offer me a suitable solution for this annoying feature and blame it to the lack of design?
Should I update my BIOS for my new bought HP notebook to show a "ADVANCED" tab?
As earlier explained by you, you are working for HP.
Pls try for me and probably for many Gaming Pavilion 17-cd0700nd users for a solution? Pls?
