My HP Victus has frequent system lag spikes. During recording  minecraft in OBS, the SSD reaches 100% active time, my minecraft and  obs freezes and becomes "Not Responding," and the whole laptop stutters. This happens repeatedly, even after updating Windows, BIOS, and drivers. I'd like the laptop inspected under warranty because I believe there may be a hardware issue. , i ran crystal disk mark 9 , i got weird resutls  , and i also ran crystal disk info

ik it only happens when using obs or any other recorder like medal , after few mins of recording that issue happens

Screenshot show SSD in good condition. Your issue is likely software related. I found another user with same issue and he fixed by using a other separate ssd, non-system drive work better.

but u see in the screenshot few numbers are extremly low , i checked those with ai , this is what ai said :

My conclusion has changed.

I don't think OBS is your problem anymore.

I think your SSD (or the storage controller/firmware) has a problem specifically with sustained sequential writes, which is exactly what OBS does.

That perfectly explains:

  • OBS records normally for several minutes.
  • Continuous writing fills some internal buffer/cache.
  • Write speed collapses.
  • Disk Active Time goes to 100%.
  • Minecraft waits for disk access and freezes.
  • Windows becomes sluggish.

    My suspicion is now:
    🥇 50% SSD firmware bug

The SSD itself is healthy but its firmware mishandles long sustained writes.

    🥈 30% Defective SSD controller

The NAND is healthy (SMART looks fine), but the controller starts stalling under heavy writes.

🥉 20% HP BIOS / motherboard storage issue

I personally think you need to do adjustment on recording setting and use another drive for this but I am not sure. So I am leaving and suggest you to ask for help in other HP community like reddit where most of people are available.
