Microsoft Windows 11

I got this laptop for like 4-5 months almost.... From 2 days my laptop is lagging a lot when I try to play games while charging my laptop... but when I'm not charging my laptop games are running pretty much smoothly... I've update all the drivers download from the HP's official website (India) but still the issue is not resolved... I've also tried the "edit power plan' thing but still the results are same...

Hi @Owl_1703

Welcome to the HP Support Community. From what I have understood, you are facing a performance issue while playing games when the system is connected to the AC adapter but it works fine when you play on battery.

I see you have already updated drivers from the HP website and have also tried 'edit power plan'. Do not worry, we are here to help you with it.

  • May I know if you have made any recent hardware or software changes to your system?
  • Could you tell me if it only happens when you play a game? Also, did you try playing other games to check if the issue is not just with one game?
  • I hope you are using the same AC adapter that was shipped with the system.

Please confirm if you have updated BIOS, graphics driver, and Windows. If not, I would suggest you please update them, restart and check if the issue persists.

If that doesn't work, follow the steps below and let me know the outcome.

Click on the Windows logo icon available on your taskbar and click on the "Change advance power settings" link).

Scroll down to "ATI Graphics Power Settings --> ATI Powerplay Settings" and change the "Plugged In" option to match the 'On Battery" option.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
