I figured that my laptop CPU temperatures are high while charging. It stays in high 60's then reach 80's(degree's). This is while I am using it for minimal tasks. While Gaming it causes the laptop to go very hot since it is charging as well as undertaking heavy tasks.  Is this normal or need some troubleshooting?

Also can you suggest a power plan setting while gaming!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is overheating.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

BIOS: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp111001-111500/sp111194.exe

Intel: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp111001-111500/sp111131.exe

Nvidia: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp111001-111500/sp111135.exe

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hey @The_Fossette , Thank you for replying.

I have updated the bios and graphic drivers as per your instruction.

But it seems like the issue of laptop temperature going past 80°C just after 5 minutes of gaming still persists.

A tweak in the power plan has made a minor improvement, but still its too hot.

I recommend you run a system test to make sure that all the hardware components are working fine.

Refer to the below artilce for detailed steps.
