Hi @Furk4n,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Victus by HP 16.1 Inch Gaming Laptop's GPU is working on low wattage, it could be due to a few factors.
- Power Settings: Check your power settings in Windows. Ensure that your laptop is set to "High Performance" mode rather than "Power Saver" or "Balanced." This can affect how much power the GPU uses.
- Thermal Throttling: The GPU might be throttling its performance to prevent overheating. Ensure your laptop's cooling system is working properly and that vents are not blocked.
- Driver Issues: Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause performance issues.
- Battery vs. AC Power: Some laptops reduce GPU performance when running on battery power to conserve energy. Plugging in the laptop can often restore full GPU performance.
- Power Supply: Ensure that the power adapter is providing adequate wattage for the laptop to operate at full capacity.
- GPU Settings: Check the GPU control panel (e.g., NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Radeon Software) for settings that might limit performance or power usage.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
