Hi @Budi93,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're experiencing with your HP Omen 16 laptop lagging when unplugged, even after replacing the battery, could be due to power management settings or hardware-related configurations. Since the UEFI diagnostics show no issues, the problem likely lies in software or configuration.

Here's how you can troubleshoot.

Adjust Power Settings

  • Windows Power Plan Settings:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
    2. Select your current power plan and click Change plan settings.
    3. Click Change advanced power settings.
    4. Expand Processor Power Management:
      • Set Minimum Processor State to 100% for both "On Battery" and "Plugged In".
      • Ensure Maximum Processor State is also 100%.
    5. Expand Graphics Settings (or similar):
      • Set the GPU to Maximum Performance for "On Battery".

Check Battery Performance

Battery Calibration:

  • Fully charge the battery to 100%.
  • Disconnect the charger and let the battery drain completely until the laptop shuts off.
  • Recharge to 100% without interruption.

Battery Reports:

  1. Open Command Prompt and type:

powercfg /batteryreport

  1. Check the generated report for battery health and capacity inconsistencies.

Update Drivers and BIOS

  • BIOS Update: Ensure the BIOS is up to date by visiting the HP Support website and downloading the latest version for your laptop model.
  • Chipset and Graphics Drivers:
    1. Update the Intel/AMD chipset drivers.
    2. Update the NVIDIA/AMD GPU drivers from the official site (if applicable).

Check NVIDIA/AMD Graphics Settings

  • Open the NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Adrenalin Software.
  • Ensure that the Power Management Mode is set to Maximum Performance when on battery.

Test Battery Behavior

  • Disconnect the charger and monitor CPU usage in Task Manager.
  • Use tools like HWiNFO or Throttlestop to check for power or thermal throttling.

Reset EC (Embedded Controller)

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Unplug the charger and remove any connected peripherals.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the battery and power it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

i have done all that, but the problem has not been solved. The main problem is the processor performance always stacks at 0,2 GHz on battery (unplugged charger).

Alternatively, i use software throttlestop .exe but i dont feel comfortable with this because every time i turn it on there is always lagging first.

i got similar history and similar problem with hp omen. without charger plug in laptop lagging from the beginning i hit the power on button.  it is lookalike cpu throttling. the only way to get the laptop operate normally is opening throttlestop apps and unthick the BD Prochot in throttlestop windows apps. any idea sir what causing this problem?? the new battery can be charge and discharged normally.
