HP Omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The battery of my three week old HP Omen laptop only charges when closed. I am unable to remove the battery of the laptop so that is not an option. When I open the laptop the battery charges for about five seconds before not charging anymore. There is no visible damage on either the charging port or the cable. Like I said earlier I bought this laptop three weeks ago and have taken extremely good care of it, but technology can be stupid sometimes. Anyway, thanks for the assistance.

Thank you for your reply. I ran a diagnostic test on the battery and adapter and the test said the issue was with the adapter which can't be the case since the charger functions just fine on my mom's laptop which has the same charger as mine, and her charger does not work when plugged into my computer, so the issue has to be with the computer itself. I'll give a call to HP and see what happens. Thanks again.

Yes, please keep me informed about the situation.

There are plenty of options - the machine may be serviced or you may return it and get a replacement device ?

Looking forward to your update - I hope for positive news.
