OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck0000 (2Y4A6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Came home to find the laptop dead , left it on charge - came back was completely off not charging or turning on . I’ve tried pretty much everything- holding the power button , CMOS reset and what not . Nothing seems to work . The charger is completely fine and works as I tested it on a different laptop . Something to do with the laptop . It’s quite new too - only 2 years old and in good condition. Not sure why this happened. Please can someone help me to fix this as I have a lot of important documents on there .

Hi @Danielk346,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this—it's stressful when a laptop suddenly stops work

  • When you plug in the charger, does the charging light indicator on the laptop turn on at all, or is it completely unresponsive?
  • Have you tried using a different power outlet to rule out any potential issues with the current one?
  • Did the laptop show any signs of overheating, unusual noises, or screen flickering before it shut off?

Let's try these steps.

Remove devices and perform a hard reset

To determine whether you need to contact HP or troubleshoot startup issues, perform a hard reset.

Note: A hard reset does not affect data saved on your computer.

  • Turn off the computer.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter.
  • Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.
  • Disconnect all nonessential devices such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.
  • Note:
  • Do not disconnect your mouse, keyboard, or monitor.
  • With the AC adapter unplugged, press and hold the power button for approximately 20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.
  • Note:
  • Be sure that you use the AC adapter that was shipped with the computer.

Click here for the remaining steps.

If you have performed all the steps mentioned above and still having issues, this could be a hardware issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
