I installed the latest audio driver (SP92517) but felt like the sound had changed.
Before the latest update the audio control was in the tray in the form of Omen audio control, but now it got changed to HP audio control, a Win10-style app. That itself is a welcome change, but for some reason (driver integration issues?) some functions, namely Bang&Olufsen audio experience and the ability to customize mic noise-cancellation is not there anymore.
I reverted to the prior update (SP88578) because B&O audio experience has a volume-boosting effect and not having it made a noticeable decrease in the speaker volume (at least effectively). I hope in the future update the new HP audio control can bring back those two driver-specific features.

@scitanium HP seems to have made changes to the way the driver functions, causing the name and its interface to change after the update, the same may be changed again in the future, however, we don't know when that would happen as it's decided by the R&D team based on your feedback, hence I'll forward your details to them, meanwhile, you may have to live with it as there's no other option, getting an older driver may work using 3rd party applications, however, we do not recommend the same.
To increase the speaker volume, try these steps:
- Press Win+I keys to open Windows Settings and go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- On the right-hand side, you should find Playing Audio.
- Select it and click on Run the troubleshooter button
- And follow the on-screen instructions.
I hope that answers your query,

Have a great day ahead.
