I know that my original SSD is a Samsung mzvlb512hbjq-000h1 and it is a Gen 3 x4. What I would like to know is what my laptops ports are. Is it just a Gen 3 x4 or does it have a higher gen on it? I looked around on this website but I couldn't find anything saying what the port is on the laptop. Any help or recommendations are appreciated.

Your notebook's M.2 SSD slot is PCIe Gen 3.0.
While a Gen 4 SSD will work, it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from a Gen 3 slot.
This table provides the maximum transfer speeds that one can expect from the various PCI slot generations.

You can look up the PCIe connectivity spec by looking up the specs for your notebook's AMD processor.
For example, the model series can come with the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, which I believe is the best processor offered in the model series.
Looking at the Connectivity section, you will find that the PCIe version is 3.0.
