Helo. I have problem with running some games. Seems tht gpu does not recognize them as they need more power and sitting around 400 - 600mHz with low 40 fps. In menu is ok , over 2000mHz and over 200fps. Changing resolutin or settings does nothing. Only affected by few games. Most works normal. So question, how to force max gpu use on GPU?

Hi @Azathoth79
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Here are some steps you can take to try to force your GPU to use more power:
Update Drivers: Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date. Go to the manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) and download the latest drivers.
NVIDIA Control Panel / AMD Radeon Settings:
- If you have an NVIDIA GPU, right-click on the desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel." Go to "Manage 3D Settings" and set the "Power Management Mode" to "Prefer Maximum Performance."
- For AMD, open "Radeon Settings," go to "Gaming," select the game, and set the "Power Efficiency" to off.
Game Settings: Sometimes, games have specific settings that limit performance. Check in-game graphics settings and disable any options that might limit performance, like V-Sync or frame rate caps.
Windows Power Settings:
- Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options. Make sure your plan is set to "High Performance."
Monitoring Software: Use software like MSI Afterburner or GPU-Z to monitor your GPU usage and clock speeds while gaming. This can help you identify if the GPU is being throttled.
Background Processes: Make sure there are no unnecessary background applications consuming resources. Close any apps that aren’t needed while gaming.
Thermal Management: Ensure your laptop is well-ventilated. Overheating can cause throttling, so consider using a cooling pad.
Game Mode in Windows: Make sure Game Mode is enabled in Windows. Go to Settings > Gaming > Game Mode and toggle it on.
Compatibility Settings: For the specific games having issues, try running them in compatibility mode. Right-click the game executable, go to Properties > Compatibility, and choose an earlier version of Windows.
Reinstall Games: If all else fails, consider reinstalling the problematic games to ensure there are no corrupted files.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello.
Drivers are updated and all power settings are on high performance. Laptop is plug into power brick. Temps on GPU are about 55 to 60C .
Changing graphics settings dies nothing same FPS in 1080p and even as low as 800x600 witch is silly. Using afterburner as previously written, in menu GPU usage is 97% at 2354MHz 75C 48W with over 100fps at hinges settings.
Going in-game makes GPU
69% usage at 750MHz with 60C and 18W with 44fps
That is same with every game I have problem.
Cpu is about 30% usage at 4GHz 95C at 43W
Changing resolution down drops GPU usage and remain same FPS (vsync is off) . So at 640x480 I have 68% usage at 500MHz with 55C at 14W.
With CPU at 24% 4GHz at 36W at 90C
So I ask again how to force GPU up in MHz. Because I tried tons of help from internet as reinstalling , compatibility config files editing but for some games I'm stuck with **bleep** performance where should be smooth experience .
O, and some games can be fixed by using reshade injection but others this solution is not working.

power management settings within the GPU control panel. Settings in AMD control panel are high performance. no gpu options in bios. No options to manipulate gpu in afterburner or similar software and no option in amd sofware. No option to do anything in ryzen master. Thermals are like 55 on GPU and like 75 on cpu when problem ocures. I even turned off cpu clock boost in power profile to lower power and temp. but no luck. But as I have option in power profile to change CPU speeds on demand. No such option for GPU
