Hi
On my HP Windows 11 Laptop, low-power power source detected keeps popping up. It looks like the inside of my charger port there are bent pins inside the charger port of the computer which I think may be causing this
I am looking for a solution
Thanks

Hi @Mack68,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP laptop is showing a “Low-Power Power Source Detected” message, and you’ve noticed bent pins inside the charging port. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
a. Inspect the Charger and Adapter
Ensure you’re using the original HP charger that came with your laptop.
Check the adapter for any physical damage, loose wires, or signs of overheating.
If available, try another compatible HP charger to confirm if the issue persists.
b. Examine the Charging Port
Use a flashlight to carefully look inside the charging port. If the pins appear bent, do not try to straighten them using metal tools — this can cause short circuits or permanent damage.
Avoid forcing the charger plug into the port, as it may worsen the bend or damage internal connectors.
c. Power Source Check
Plug the adapter directly into a wall socket instead of a power strip or surge protector.
Ensure the wall outlet provides stable power by testing it with another device.
d. Perform a Battery Reset (for removable battery models)
Shut down the laptop and disconnect the charger.
Remove the battery (if applicable) and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
Reconnect the battery and charger, then power on the laptop.
e. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
Press F2 repeatedly while starting your laptop to open HP Hardware Diagnostics.
Run the Power and Battery tests to detect any charging or adapter issues.
I hope this helps.
