Hello HP support team.
I started to see this problem in my Pavilion Gaming laptop, for some reason im getting low fps in every game i tried to play
(even in low graphics games) like roblox or minecraft. The issue is, my laptop was able to run fornite high graphics at 100 fps (no fps drops) now, im getting 15 in roblox with full graphics and 45 with low graphics.
I already tried to set roblox and minecraft as high performance, i used to play the same games in roblox with more than 60fps in full graphics, more than 150 fps in minecraft. Now i cant even get half of that performance.
My gpu usage is always at 100% while playing roblox, and my cpu usage its like 9%
I am pretty sure it is not overheating, My gpu is always at 60c and same with my cpu, I already installed the lasted drivers for both and my nvidia configs are the default ones.
still wont be able to get stables fps.
SPECS:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10300H CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz
Installed RAM: 16,0 GB (15,8 GB usable)
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce 1650 TI
Getting this low performance even in a decent build is really anoying, Any help will be apreciated.

Hi @Pepin12345679,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to see such a drop in performance. Here are a few more things you could check or try.
- Power Settings: Make sure your laptop is set to "High Performance" in the Windows power settings. Sometimes, even if you’ve set individual games to high performance, the system power plan may still throttle performance.
- Background Processes: Check for any background processes or applications that might be using system resources. Sometimes updates or other software can start running and affect performance.
- Thermal Throttling: Even though your temperatures are showing as normal, sometimes thermal throttling can still occur if there's an issue with cooling efficiency. Ensure that your cooling system is clean and functioning properly.
- Driver Conflicts: Although you’ve installed the latest drivers, there might be a conflict or corruption. Try performing a clean installation of your GPU drivers using tools like DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to fully remove old drivers before reinstalling.
- System Integrity: Run a system file check to ensure there are no corrupted system files. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type sfc /scannow.
- BIOS and Firmware: Check if there are any BIOS or firmware updates for your laptop. Sometimes, these updates can resolve performance issues.
- Check for Malware: Run a full system scan to ensure there are no malware or viruses affecting performance.
- Power Supply: Ensure that your laptop’s power supply is providing sufficient power. Sometimes, performance issues can arise if the laptop is not receiving enough power.
- Game Settings: Double-check in-game settings and consider lowering them further to see if that has any impact. Some settings might have different effects on performance than expected.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
