hp omen 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone i have the hp omen 17 laptop and i am trying to bind some macros with the omen command center. The macros i am trying to set is vollume up vollume down and play/pause.For some reason i go in the macro recorder i record the macros and they dont work.On top of that if i close the command center app and open it again the recorded macro changes the pressed button from vollumeup to B.So is this a bug that can or might be fixxed with the software or i should try third party tools to bind the macros the way i want?

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

To assist you better please provide me with the complete Notebook model or the product number

You can refer to this Link: hp.care/2bygf7l for help in locating the Product Number.

Meantime, Uninstall the Omen Command Center and restart the Notebook

Then download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Then download the Omen Command Center from Microsoft Store

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thank you for posting back.

Let's run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
If the issue persists, I recommend you uninstall the Omen command center and then download and install it from the Microsoft store.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for the respnose.Support assistant didnt have any bios updates i searched manualy and found the bios update.I dont have a blank usb flash drive at the moment so i skiped the bios update.I used autohotkey with a script i found to bind the media keys to random keyboard combinations and  then binded  them to the macro keys with omen command center that seemed easyer soloution at the moment than going to a bios update. So that kinda solved my problem.
