Hi:

To find out the max memory your notebook can run, you can do this...

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator. This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacity and hit enter. There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Chapter 1 of the service manual for the older model 15-ec0xxx series, indicates the max for that series is 2 x 16 GB of memory.

Just FYI.

DO NOT BUY ANY AFTER MARKET BRAND RAM FOR HP OR OMEN.

The BIOS in almost all the HP's and OMEN brand laptops only recognize Samsung.

I've bench marked numerous brands from G skills, Corsair. Using the  user bench mark application all these RAM chips under performed on the bench mark with percentages under 20% on speed due to locked bios, and the bios not recognizing the RAM type.

If you use Samsung RAM the laptop will out perform on the bench mark at 80% or higher.

Right now my HP OMEN has 40GB DDR4. The laptop will accept 40GB if its samsung.

I have a 32GB samsung RAM stick in slot one, and I moved my original 8 GB samsung RAM stick into slot 2. No problems at all and the system operates phenominally.

Hi, I have installed RAM,  ADATA - Memory SO-DIMM 16 GB DDR4-3200MHZ Premier (16GB DDR 4 3200MHZ) (16GB DDR 4 3200MHZ). The HP memory diagnostic tool, windows memory diagnostic tool shows the ram installed correctly and working fine. But the other end suddenly my pc started a random blue screen death error. Could you please help me with what went wrong here?

Slot 1 has 8GB DDR4 3200MHZ Hynix (inbuilt) + Slot 2 I have installed 16GB DDR3200MHZZ ADATA. So total memory shows 24 GB.
