My GPU and CPU usage is very low when playing games, i test it in Valorant and the GPU usage is around 2-5% while the CPU is 8-15% but the Memory is High at 45-65%

RAM Usage:
- The high memory usage (45-65%) could indicate that your system is utilizing available RAM efficiently. This might not necessarily be a problem unless it's causing performance issues or other applications to slow down.
Game Optimization:
- Some games may have specific optimization issues with certain hardware configurations. Check online forums or the Valorant community for any specific optimizations or settings tweaks that can improve performance.
Steps to Troubleshoot:
- Task Manager Monitoring: Keep Task Manager open while playing to monitor real-time CPU, GPU, and memory usage. This can help identify if any specific component is consistently underutilized.
- Benchmarking Tools: Use benchmarking tools like MSI Afterburner with Rivatuner Statistics Server (RTSS) to overlay real-time performance metrics (CPU, GPU usage, temperatures) while gaming.
- Clean Installation: Consider a clean installation of GPU drivers using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to ensure there are no conflicting files from previous installations.
By systematically checking these areas, you should be able to identify why your GPU and CPU usage are low while playing Valorant and take appropriate steps to improve performance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @khaizurran,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like your laptop is experiencing low GPU and CPU usage but higher memory (RAM) usage when playing Valorant. Here are a few things to consider and steps you can take to address this issue.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
Power Settings:
- Make sure your laptop is set to "High Performance" mode in the power settings. Sometimes, laptops may be in power-saving modes by default, which can limit CPU and GPU performance.
Graphics Settings:
- Check the graphics settings in Valorant. If the game is running at very low graphics settings, it might not be demanding enough to fully utilize the GPU. Try increasing the graphics settings and see if GPU usage increases.
Background Processes:
- Ensure that there are no unnecessary background processes consuming CPU resources. Sometimes, background applications can interfere with game performance.
Driver Updates:
- Update your GPU drivers to the latest version. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause performance issues or prevent hardware from being utilized efficiently.
Temperature and Throttling:
- Monitor the temperature of your CPU and GPU during gameplay. If they are overheating, they might throttle down to prevent damage, leading to lower usage. Use software like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to check temperatures.
BIOS Settings:
- Check if there are any BIOS updates available for your laptop. Sometimes BIOS updates can improve hardware performance and compatibility.
