Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, everyone. My HP victus 15, purchased in March 2023, began experiencing black screen troubles a few months ago, causing me some concern. Is anybody else experiencing this issue? I hope someone responds. Thank you.

Hi @RJ016,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I can offer some general troubleshooting steps that you can try to address the black screen issue.

  • Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up-to-date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP support website or use the device manager to check for updates.
  • Check Power Settings: Sometimes power settings can cause display issues. Make sure your power settings are configured properly and not causing the screen to turn off unexpectedly.
  • Adjust Display Settings: Check your display settings to ensure they are configured correctly. Verify the screen resolution, refresh rate, and other relevant settings.
  • External Devices: Disconnect any external devices such as monitors, USB drives, or docking stations to see if the issue persists. Sometimes external devices can cause conflicts.
  • BIOS/UEFI Update: Check if there are any BIOS or UEFI updates available for your laptop on the HP support website. Updating the system firmware can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues.
  • Run Windows Update: Make sure your operating system is up-to-date by running Windows Update. Sometimes, system updates can include fixes for hardware issues.
  • Hardware Diagnostics: Run built-in hardware diagnostics on your laptop. HP usually provides diagnostic tools that can help identify hardware issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
