My Hp Pavilion screen randomly turns black but is still running

I just this laptop about a couple of weeks ago and recently started doing this, when Im using the laptop in randoms times the screen would turn black but the laptop is still running. I can click and use the keyboard and sounds indicating that I did that would come from the laptop, the only problem is that screen is black. I tried waiting it out and it doesn't go back. The only way I got it to back is to turn off the laptop and start it back up. If anyone knows how to fixed please reply. Thank you.

I tried to update to the BIOS to the F.08 Rev.A but the only options I got when I finished downloading was to save the file on  usb drive and copy the BIOS image. The update option was blurred out and I couldn't access it. It said that the BIOS was not compatible.

I downloaded that BIOS version and the screen only flickers now. But after it flickers all the colors on the screen would be black and white. To get it back to normal colors I have to close the laptop and open it up.

Have you solved this issue? My new Hp Pavilion is having the same problem. The screen goes black but it still running. I wan’t to know if updating the Bios could solve this and not causing any other issues.

I already installed the last BIOS update and did not work. 

Please say if it can be fixed or  better use my guaranty to solve the problem

Hi guys, i've the same problem with my Laptop HP CX0012NL: randomly (almost every day) the screen turns black for a second, then it reappears, but in a unusual black&white, tipical of a phisical problem, and i have to close and re-open the screencover to restore the correct image.

I tried to update with the latest bios but seems to be a factory defect of the panel. My guarantee has expired unfortunately, i didnt sent for assistence becuase the problem has vanishead for some days, but now it is come back.  Some suggestion? Thanks

I have the same problem, in my case the solution temporaly when tihs happened, I close the cover on the laptop, open it again and see it again,any solution?

I found the definitive solution, not buying an HP laptop ever again. I sold my desktop PC and buy this laptop back in Colombia, and now I'm stuck in the other side of the world with a laptop that goes black every 5 minutes.
