Hi @Coleatwara,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To get your camera working on your Victus by HP Gaming Laptop, you can follow these steps to discover the camera and download the necessary drivers.

Check Device Manager

Open Device Manager:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager from the list.

Locate the Camera:

  • Look for the Imaging devices section. Expand it to see if your camera is listed.
  • If it’s there but has a yellow exclamation mark, it indicates a problem with the driver.

Update Camera Drivers

Right-click on the Camera:

  • If your camera is listed, right-click on it and select Update driver.

Choose How to Search:

  • Select Search automatically for updated driver software. This will let Windows search for and install any available drivers.

Download Drivers from HP Support

If the above step doesn’t work, you can manually download the drivers:

Go to the HP Support Website:

  • Visit HP Customer Support.

Enter Your Laptop Model:

  • Type "Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop" into the search bar and select your specific model.

Go to the Drivers & Software Section:

  • Select Drivers & Software.
  • Choose your operating system if prompted.

Find Camera Drivers:

  • Look for Camera or Imaging Devices under the list of drivers.
  • Download the latest version of the camera driver.

Install the Driver:

  • Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.

Restart Your Laptop

After the installation, restart your laptop to ensure the changes take effect.

Test Your Camera

  1. Open the Camera App:
    • Press Windows + S, type "Camera," and select the Camera app to see if it works.

Note:

  • Check Privacy Settings: Ensure that camera access is enabled in your privacy settings:
    • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera and make sure that access to the camera is turned on for your apps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
