If your HP Victus 15 (Ryzen 5600H) display is freezing, try these steps to fix it:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds until the laptop turns off.
- Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button again for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
- Plug the charger back in and turn it on.
2. Check for Overheating Issues
- If your laptop is getting too hot, it may freeze.
- Ensure proper ventilation (avoid using it on soft surfaces like beds or blankets).
- Clean the vents using compressed air to remove dust buildup.
- Use HP Omen Gaming Hub to monitor CPU & GPU temperatures.
3. Update Graphics Drivers
If freezing happens during gaming or video playback, update your drivers:
- Right-click Start → Device Manager.
- Expand Display Adapters.
- Right-click AMD Radeon Graphics → Update driver → Search automatically.
- Also, update drivers from HP Support Assistant or AMD Adrenalin software.
4. Check for Windows Updates
- Press Win + I → Go to Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates.
- Install pending updates and restart.

5. Run System File Check (SFC)
If system files are corrupted, this can fix them:
- Press Win + R, type cmd, and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter (to run as admin).
- Type: sfc /scannow
- Press Enter and wait for it to complete.
6. Boot into Safe Mode
If freezing still happens, try Safe Mode:
- Turn off the laptop completely.
- Turn it back on and repeatedly press F8 or Shift + F8 before the Windows logo appears.
- Select Safe Mode with Networking.
- If the issue doesn’t happen in Safe Mode, it may be a driver/software issue.
7. Reset Windows (As a Last Resort)
If nothing works, reset Windows:
- Win + I → Go to Recovery.
- Click Reset this PC → Keep my files (to avoid data loss).
If your screen is completely unresponsive, you might need professional repair or check if your RAM or SSD is faulty.
