As I mentioned above, my laptop underwent a factory reset and also had its hard drive replaced, which caused a standard driver to be installed on the keyboard within the device itself.
Now, when I install the OMEN gaming hub with the light center, the keyboard stops displaying lights and is also reported as an incompatible device, but if I turn off the HSA OMEN service, the keyboard comes back to life (albeit without customization).

Hi @Unnamed_1001,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.
To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?
When you say the keyboard is reported as “incompatible,” is that message coming directly from OMEN Gaming Hub, or from Windows Device Manager?
Did you reinstall the OMEN Gaming Hub from HP’s official support site, or from the Microsoft Store?
Are the lights completely off when the hub is running, or do they flicker briefly before shutting down?
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub: Uninstall the current version, restart your laptop, and reinstall the latest version from HP’s support page for your exact model (15‑ek0010la).
- Install OMEN Keyboard driver/firmware: After a factory reset, Windows may only load a generic keyboard driver. Check HP’s support site for your model and install the dedicated keyboard firmware or driver package.
- Update chipset and BIOS: Make sure the latest BIOS and chipset drivers are installed, as these can affect peripheral compatibility.
- Check Device Manager: Expand Keyboards and Human Interface Devices. If you see a generic driver instead of “OMEN Keyboard,” right‑click and update driver manually using HP’s package.
- Test in Safe Mode: Boot into Safe Mode and run OMEN Gaming Hub. If the keyboard works there, the issue may be a driver conflict in normal mode.
I hope this helps
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!

Hello, thank you very much for your response and suggestions. I had already tried reinstalling my keyboard driver in every way possible that I could find on YouTube or ChatGPT, but there were no results. The incompatibility only appears in Omen programs, both in Omen Gaming Hub and Light Studio. All the other keys work normally, including the Omen key, but the lighting does not turn on at any time if Omen services are in full use, including the shortcut to turn on the LEDs, which do not respond.
I also installed the Omen hub from both places. At first, I installed it from the Microsoft store, but when it didn't work, I uninstalled it completely and then went to the HP website within my laptop's drivers and installed each of them on my PC. The installed HP programs say that I no longer need to install anything, as all my drivers are up-to-date.
