Microsoft Windows 11

Hello. I have an issue with my HP Victus 16 RTX 4060 R7 7840HS Laptop. I have a second monitor connected to my laptop via displayport and for the past month sometimes my second monitor was turning off itself and also my laptop screen, and then switched, again and again. For the first couple of days it wasnt too annoying, but after few weeks it was. My laptop started to turn of two screens and power button and capslock were blinking like absolutely crazy, few blinks per second, and when I had my keyboard connected to my laptop it also went off and I had this like 15-20 times daily. I thought it might be a ram issue but i did Windows Memory Diagnostic but it didnt showed any issues. I decided finally to do factory reset, but while I

Since 2 days it was extremely annoying so I decided to do a factory reset, while my pc was restarting my laptop went crazy and for at least 30 minutes power button was blinking so fast I couldnt even count it and my pc turned off, since then (around 16 hours went by) I cant turn it on. I think it can't start working because it doesnt have installed system to start working on. Please if someone can help me I would be extremely thankful.

Hi @Michaeznt,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm really sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your HP Victus laptop. It sounds incredibly frustrating, especially with the constant screen flickering and the recent trouble turning it on. Let’s see if we can troubleshoot this together.

  • Did you notice any specific software or updates that were installed around the time the monitor issues began?
  • Have you attempted to use your laptop without the second monitor connected to see if the issue persists?
  • Are there any unusual sounds, like beeping or clicking, when you try to power on the laptop?

Try the following.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect all external devices (including the second monitor).
  • Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try to turn on the laptop again.

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • If the laptop powers on, try to access Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing F11 during startup to enter the recovery environment.
  • From there, select Troubleshoot, then Advanced options, and choose Startup Settings. You can then restart and select Safe Mode.
  • This will help determine if the issue is caused by a software conflict.

Check for BIOS Recovery:

  • If your laptop does not turn on, try a BIOS recovery. Turn off the laptop, then press and hold the Windows key + B while you press the power button.
  • Continue holding these keys until you see the BIOS recovery screen. This can help restore the BIOS settings if they were corrupted during the factory reset.

Create a Windows Recovery USB:

  • If the laptop turns on but does not load Windows, you can create a Windows recovery USB on another computer. Use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB drive.
  • Insert the USB into your laptop, and while powering it on, press the Esc key to access the boot menu, then select the USB to boot from it and attempt a repair or fresh installation.

Check Hardware Connections:

  • If the laptop still won’t turn on, check if the RAM is seated properly. If you're comfortable doing so, open the laptop and reseat the RAM sticks and any other easily accessible components.
  • Ensure that the power connector is securely connected to the motherboard.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may indicate a more serious hardware problem. Let me know how it goes or if you have any more questions!

Please mark this post as Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
