Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fa0032dx
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello HP community,

I have recently received one of your laptops from my brother after he owned it for a few years now (Victus Gaming Laptop 15) and its been working very well since it was purchased but for the last year has developed some sort of issue with connecting to my Wi-Fi network. My phone as well as all other devices in the building are able to connect to the network just fine but every time I try to add this device to the network it says "Can't connect to this network". Please help me with resolving this issue.

Hi, Sebastian:

The parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with a Mediatek Wi-Fi 6 adapter.

HP PartSurfer

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if updating the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers to the latest versions HP has for that model Wi-Fi adapter helps any.

If you have no internet connection on the PC, download the drivers from another PC, copy them to a USB flash drive, plug the flash drive into your 15-fa0032dx's USB port and run them from there.

Hi Paul! I tried installing the drivers you requested I install and proceeded to restart the laptop. It did not solve the issue. Is there any possible solutions you can think of as to why the laptop can not connect to the network but my other devices can? I am able to connect to one of my at home networks on the laptop but not the one I would ideally connect to. I hope that added information helps a little bit. I've tried every troubleshoot option that both your virtual assistant and YT offer.20240312_0102052.jpg20240312_0102462.jpg20240311_193424.jpg20240311_1934292.jpg20240311_1934542.jpg20240311_1935243.jpg20240311_1935302.jpg20240311_193546.jpg20240311_1936122.jpg20240311_1941502.jpgScreenshot_20240312_005618_Photos.jpg

Unfortunately, I don't know why the Wi-Fi adapter isn't working or what you can do to fix it other than backing up your files and using the cloud recovery tool to factory reset the notebook.

That will rule out any software issues.

If factory resetting the notebook doesn't work, then most likely there is a hardware issue with the Wi-Fi adapter and it would need to be replaced.

Use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

If you have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.
