Hi @Harsh_205

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like you're dealing with multiple frustrating issues on your HP Victus laptop. Let’s address each problem step by step:

1. Touchpad Not Working on Uneven Surfaces

This issue might be related to sensitivity settings or hardware alignment. Here’s what you can try:

  • Update Touchpad Drivers:
    • Open Device Manager (search for it in the Start menu).
    • Expand "Mice and other pointing devices."
    • Right-click on the touchpad driver and select Update driver.
    • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
  • Adjust Touchpad Settings:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
    • Increase sensitivity and disable gestures to test if it improves functionality.
  • Run Diagnostics:
    • Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly during startup to access HP diagnostics.
    • Run the touchpad test to check for hardware issues.
  • Check for Physical Damage:
    • Inspect the touchpad for any visible damage or misalignment. If the issue persists, it might require professional repair.

2. Screen Flickering While Using Brave and VS Code

Screen flickering can be caused by software conflicts or graphics driver issues. Here’s how to fix it:

  • Update Graphics Drivers:
    • Open Device Manager and expand "Display adapters."
    • Right-click on your graphics driver (e.g., NVIDIA or AMD) and select Update driver.
  • Disable Hardware Acceleration:
    • In Brave:
      • Go to Settings > System and disable Use hardware acceleration when available.
    • In VS Code:
      • Open settings and search for "hardware acceleration."
      • Disable it by setting "disable-hardware-acceleration": true in the settings.json file.
  • Adjust Refresh Rate:
    • Go to Settings > System > Display > Advanced display settings.
    • Set the refresh rate to the recommended value.
  • Test in BIOS:
    • Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly during startup to enter BIOS.
    • If the screen flickers in BIOS, it might indicate a hardware issue.

3. Light Whiter Tone on Left Bottom of Screen (Possible Screen Leak)

This could be a backlight bleed or hardware defect. Here’s what you can do:

  • Test in BIOS:
    • Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
    • Check if the white tone persists in BIOS. If it does, it’s likely a hardware issue.
  • Inspect for Physical Damage:
    • Ensure there’s no external damage to the screen. If the issue worsens, it might require a screen replacement.
