Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb1000 (7Y8M8AV)

Bought new in April 2024. The laptop for steaming at home. Unplugged from the wall for 7 months. Went to use the laptop and no power. No LED lights up at all after plugging the battery charger into it. Allowed to charge for one hour and still nothing at all. What the heck? Edited

Hi @Fastasu,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the battery or the internal components of your HP laptop. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot:

Check the Power Supply:

  • Verify that the power outlet is working by connecting another device.
  • Ensure that the power adapter is plugged in securely to both the wall outlet and the laptop.

Inspect the Power Adapter:

  • Check for any visible damage to the power adapter or cables. If possible, try using a different power adapter compatible with your laptop.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery if it is removable.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and the power adapter, then try to power on the laptop.

Test the Battery:

  • If the battery is removable, try starting the laptop with the power adapter connected and the battery removed. This can help determine if the battery is the issue.

Check for Indicator Lights:

  • Look for any indicator lights on the power adapter or laptop. Some adapters have an LED to show power status.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
