I tried to install lastes Nvidia driver (512.95), but I received an error, I contacted Nvidia support and we tried several activites:

- update windows

- repair windows

- uninstall Nvidia driver

...

but nothing has worked, now I am unable to install the version of Nvidia that was working before the lastest driver, what I did (to be able to use my laptop) is to restore a previous point and I have my driver back, but I am still uncapable to install any Nvidia driver, older or newer.

Any suggestion?

Hello @drajas

You cannot use the official Nvida drivers for your HP notebook !

You must use the released and certified drivers from HP.

Important:

First, please create a windows restore point, before you start experimenting...

(1) Remove all graphics drivers/artefacts with Display Driver Uninstaller DDU

(2) Reboot

(3) Install the HP released and certified NVIDIA driver

(4) Reboot and test again ...

@drajas

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Could you please share the picture of the error message?
  • Have you tried Microsoft system restore?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,

There is no option for attach an image here on the site, the error on the NVIDIA installer is basically "Error on the installer", it happens on the part when it tries to install the driver; I have tried several versions of the NVIDIA official site but same error.

I haven't tried system restore, will it delete my personal files?, will I have to install all drivers and hp software if I restore the system?

Hi,

I sucessfully updated the BIOS,

When I tried to install NVIDIA driver nothing happened (actually I have installed 512.59, but every time I try to install driver from offician nvidia site, I get an error)

I also tried to install audio driver, it only opens a cmd window, also nothing happened (actual installed version is 6.0.9285.1)
