Hello,

My laptop comes with 1 tb wd gen 4 SSD. I want to upgrade it to 2 TB. But I am not sure, if it has second SSD slot. If it has second SSD slot, then I am planning to buy WD sn850x 1tb without heat sink SSD.

I have following queries: -

1) Will I be able to update to WD sn850x 1 TB SSD?

2) Will this SSD be a perfect choice for my laptop model?

3) If yes, how to verify slot compatibility before purchase?

Thank you,

-Vipul

@Vipul_Patil

Its manual

           https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_5972494_en-US-1.pdf

which does not say anything about DUAL storage options (page 2) but it says  Primary storage that implies a secondary but what.

My suggestion: replace existing drive with 2TB and during the process you may see second M.2 slot and up you go you can have 3TB (2TB  + old 1TB).

Hope this makes sense

Regards,

BH
