I just received my Hp Omen Max 16. Before buying it, I checked and under Q&A and HP Team Grant says it supports XMP. I check the bios under advance and there is no XMP profiles to pick. I am running the latest bios. I picked up some Kingston Fury 6400 XMP 3.0 ram and would like to use it. I tried and it just shows as 4800. Am I missing something or is the setting locked out of the bios?
Copy of the Q&A below.
Q: Does the HP Omen Max 16 support XMP memory profiles?
Hewlett P a month agoA: Thank you for your question! Yes, HP Omen laptops have XMP RAM. XMP, or Extreme Memory Profile, is a feature that allows a system to configure memory modules to run at their rated speeds automatically.

Ok anyone looking for 6400MT ram, you can't use 1.3v, only 1.1v. I tried the Kingston 6400MT cas 40 and runs at 4800MT. You need to get Kingston Value model KVR64V52BD8-32. Not only does it auto detect it, its CSODIMM and 6400MT. Which means you have a Client Clock Driver chip (link below to explain).
The other option is the Crucial (link below), its sold out everywhere. If you want lower CAS rating for 6400MT, you will need to wait, as there is only the one and its 1.3v. Right now, I got 2x 32gb 6400MT working great.

Did you use the Kingston Fury or Crucial 6400 memory? The reason I ask is the Knigston memory is 1.35v and the Crucial is 1.1v. I am wondering is the voltage is the issue. I dont want to just buy the crucial to test.
