Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-d1 (53F49AV)

My HP notebook stays at the Victus logo on the boot screen and Windows won't load. When I run startup repair it gives srttail.txt error. Also the notebook is opening in safe mode. I booted into safe mode and ran these commands but it doesn't work (chkdsk /f /r) . Can you help? I don't know what to do, System Restore doesn't work either

Hi @Emre34,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP notebook is experiencing a booting issue that prevents Windows from loading properly, and the startup repair tool is unable to fix the problem due to the srttail.txt error.

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

  • Power off your notebook, unplug it from the power source, and remove the battery (if possible). Wait for a few minutes, then re-insert the battery (if you removed it) and plug the notebook back in. Power it on and see if Windows loads successfully.
  • If the problem persists, try accessing the Advanced Startup Options by pressing F11 or F8 repeatedly during the boot-up process. From there, you can try booting into Safe Mode or using the System Restore option to revert your notebook to a previous working state.
  • If Safe Mode and System Restore don't work, you can try using the Command Prompt option in the Advanced Startup Options to run a system file checker (SFC) scan to detect and repair any corrupt system files that may be causing the booting issue. To do this, type "sfc /scannow" into the Command Prompt and press Enter. Wait for the scan to complete, then restart your notebook and see if Windows loads properly.

I hope these suggestions help you resolve the booting issue with your HP notebook.

Take care and have a good day.
