Hp omen 15 dc1000x
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I've had this laptop for like 4 years now and i haven't updated my bios ever since... So i updated my bios before like 3 days because I've heard that the Old BIOS version (F.19 if im not wrong) was conflicting with Easy Anti Cheat and causes BSOD... So i decided to update my bios (to Version F.28) and it seems that it's even worse than before updating, it randomly freezes while gaming (keyboard and mouse don't function and audio seems to glitch) so if anyone knows a fix please don't be shy to help a friend out

Thanks in advance

Hi @Ad4m1oN,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your OMEN 15 by HP dc1000x Freezing randomly while gaming after updating BIOS (to version F.28)  Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Please try the following Troubleshoots steps.

1.    Turn off the Unit.

2.    Disconnect the AC adapter.

3.    Remove any discs from the disc drive.

4.    Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.

5.    Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.

6.    Disconnect the AC adapter press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.

7.    Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.

Step 2

Turn off the unit and please press and hold the Windows key + letter B key and the power button together for 30 seconds after 30 seconds, 1st release the power button but keep holding the Windows key and B key for ten more seconds and then release these two keys If done correctly, you will see the display flashing once. Please attempt it thrice as this step and Restart the unit

Step3

The unit has to be turned off, Press Win+ V while holding these two keys then Press the Power button, continue to hold all three keys for 30 seconds and then release the Power button first and then release these two keys Please attempt it thrice  and then you may get a Pop-Up CMOS Check and it will restart the unit

Even if you don't get a Pop-up restart the unit manually after 3 attempts.

Please  update Windows and HP support assistances updates

And update Bios and other drivers please click on the link. to update the drivers.

follow this link to HP PCs - Computer locks up or freezes (Windows 11, 10)

Second, you can check if there is Bios update available for your PC, here is the link to download.

Performing a test on the Hard drive as well as on the Memory from the Hardware diagnostics:
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F2 once for System Diagnostics.
4) Go to Component test.
5) Run extensive Memory and Hard Drive test.

Depending on the test results, If the test passes then I would suggest you perform a complete system recovery.

Note: Recovery will wipe off everything from the computer. If you have anything important get in touch with some local stores to get your data backed up.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
