Uninstall the version of the command center you have installed right now.

I saved 3 files you will need to my Google drive to make it easier to get.

command center.rar, SYSTEM.SAV.rar and vcredist_x86.exe.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4GokJT307iPM1RRYmVxajBWQ0E

1. Install vcredist_x86.exe which is Microsoft Visual C++ 2010.

Restart the computer.

2. Install 7-zip Archive Utility https://www.7-zip.org

3. Right click on SYSTEM.SAV.rar and use 7-zip to extract the file.

Open the extracted folder and open the Flags folder. Copy the file - OMENALLYINSTALL.

4. In the Windows file explorer window, go to the View tab and check the box for Hidden files.

Navigate to the root of the C drive (This PC > Windows (C): ) and open the hidden folder SYSTEM.SAV.

Go to the Flags folder and paste the OMENALLYINSTALL file.

NOTE: If you don’t have a Flags folder, then copy/paste the entire Flags folder from the extracted SYSTEM folder you downloaded earlier into the SYSTEM.SAV folder on C.

5. Download and install the HP System Event Utility from HP.  https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/omen-by-hp-15-ce000-laptop-pc/15551437/mo...

6. Extract the command center.rar file and install it.

Edit:

7. Install the version of the OCC from your models drivers page from the HP website.

Example...

The command center should now work and you can safely update it.

Very strange behavior.  Did this occur recently after a Windows update or is this a brand new purchase and it was doing it out of the box?

I didn't have preinstalled Omen Command Center from the beginning and I installed it yesterday, so it never worked. 😕

The omen CC should have already come with the CE series already unless you (or someone else) reinstalled windows.

What is the full product number of the computer?

If you go to Start and open the HP Support Assistant, it will give you the P/N.

Or when you turn the  computer on and before Windows loads, tap F1 for the info screen.

It was model without preinstalled OS. What is the matter? Preinstalled OS or not? I find Omen CC should work. 😕

Yes, that is the difference. If you install Windows yourself, there is more work that needs to be before you can install the command center.

Also, if you have Windows 10 Pro, I cant guarantee it will work. Pro has been known to have issues with the command center.

Quick note: there are more files that need to be downloaded but I see that the HP links are no longer accessible.

I will track down the files tonight and post them for you along with the instructions.

I am a volunteer, not an employee. I will post back as soon as I can.

Thanks.

It doesn't work, so...

1. I didn't install vcredist, because i have newer version. Is it a problem?

2. In "command center" folder I have only registry file, there isn't any OCC installer. I installed OCC from Microsoft Store, but you wrote "... you can safely update.". It doesnt sound that i need to install OCC from Microsoft Store.

By the way I am appreciate for trying to help me. 🙂

Sorry I thought I had also put the OCC link in the info.

install this one...

Edit:

The above instructions were edited to also include the OMEN CC download page.

That should do it.

I dont think an newer version of the vcredist will matter, but if the OCC still doesnt work, you can try uninstalling the current version of vcredist and install the one I posted.
