Hi,
I purchased my laptop a year ago, and until recently (several weeks) everything was working fine.
I regularly play games and train deep learning models, therefore I utilize CPU and GPU to it's full extent.
Thus, I need all the cooling I can get. I started putting the fans speed to the MAX option a while ago, and it was doing it's job just fine.
Recently I realized that the fans aren't working as good as before.
The MAX option doesn't work properly in that I have to put the Performance Control to the Default option in other for anything to happen.
And when I put fan speed to MAX they start turning fast and then slow down in a couple of seconds. When toggle the button constantly they speed up again but this is no way of using them.
Five minutes into gaming.
I mean this is scene is geniunly scary and I don't want to continue working with these conditions under the fear that the CPU is just going to break.
I cleaned up the fans. Also I reinstalled the OMEN Gaming Hub and the problem persists.
What should I do to resolve the problem?
Thanks

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon
.
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
And, also run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I followed the steps that you have recommended.
But it appears that I am already up to date on all fronts.
This is how the updates section in HP Support Assistant looks like:
Windows is up to date, and I performed a BIOS update (an HP one) a week prior to opening this thread.
I can provide more details if need be. Please let me know.
Thanks
