As subject states, my audio will often stutter and skip at most every 30 minutes, but usually less. The last few examples of this were less than 5 minutes apart. Less often, but still worryingly frequent, my audio driver will cut out completely, causing me to need to restart my computer to fix it. Want to ask on forms before I have to pay way too much money for someone who has no clue what they're talking about to say "I dunno" and send me on my way back home.

Hi @Jordan999,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing audio stuttering and cutting out on your OMEN HP laptop, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
- Check Audio Settings: Make sure your audio settings are configured correctly. Check the volume levels, audio output device settings, and any relevant audio enhancements or effects.
- Update Audio Drivers: Outdated or incompatible audio drivers can cause audio issues. Visit the HP support website and download the latest audio drivers for your specific laptop model. Install them and restart your laptop.
- Check for Windows Updates: Windows updates can sometimes address compatibility and performance issues. Make sure your operating system is up to date by installing any pending updates.
- Disable Audio Enhancements: Sometimes, built-in audio enhancements can cause conflicts. Go to the Sound settings, select your audio device, click on "Properties," and then navigate to the "Enhancements" tab. Disable all audio enhancements and test the audio again.
- Adjust Power Settings: In some cases, power settings might affect audio performance. Go to your power settings and make sure you're not on a power-saving mode that could limit hardware performance.
- Check for Background Applications: Background applications, especially those using high CPU or memory resources, can affect audio performance. Close any unnecessary applications that might be straining your system resources.
- Run Audio Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in audio troubleshooter that can help identify and fix common audio issues. Search for "Troubleshoot" in the Start menu, select "Troubleshoot settings," and then choose the "Playing Audio" troubleshooter.
- Check for Hardware Issues: It's possible that there's a hardware problem causing the audio issues. Test your laptop's audio with different headphones or speakers to see if the problem persists. If it does, you might need to contact HP support for further assistance.
- Scan for Malware and Viruses: Malware and viruses can sometimes affect system performance, including audio. Perform a full system scan using a reputable antivirus program to rule out any malicious software.
- Reset or Refresh Windows: If none of the above solutions work, you might consider resetting or refreshing your Windows installation. This can help resolve software-related issues that might be causing the audio problems. Make sure to back up your important data before proceeding.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
