OMEN 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-en1000 (2L1F1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I am a student, I have had my laptop for a bit more than a year, I primary use it for studying as well as do some gaming. For the past 4 months my 'x' stopped working. At this point whenever I am writing I have to copy the letter. Is there any solution to this, I read multiple threads, all of them showed no solution. Is there a way to fix this without putting down my rents money to fix a single key?

Hi @Tomazekas123,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that the X key on your OMEN Laptop 15-En1xxx has stopped working. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to fix the issue.

  • Check if the X key is physically stuck or damaged. Sometimes, dirt or debris can get lodged under a key, preventing it from working properly. Gently press down on the key and see if it feels sticky or unresponsive. If so, try cleaning the key with a soft, dry brush or compressed air.
  • Check if the X key is disabled in your system settings. Go to your computer's Control Panel or Settings, and look for the Keyboard settings. Make sure the X key is not disabled or remapped to a different function.
  • Restart your computer. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix issues with your keyboard or other hardware components.
  • Update your drivers. Go to the HP website and check if there are any updates for your laptop's keyboard drivers. Download and install any available updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
