OMEN by HP - 15-ce018dx laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am looking to upgrade my laptop RAM, HDD to SSD and I am curious if my specifc model has a slot for an M.2 SSD as well. Also if there is a maintence and service guide that is availble? Thank you in advance.

Hello @kyuubi80906

Your cex018dx will support up to 16GB of memory. It currently has one 8GB stick and you can add another.

It best to match the timings of the current stick for best performance. A tool like Speccy or cpuz will let you determine that.

Crucial memory is one of many sources that sells memory for that model and they guarantee it to work.

You can replace the HDD with a standard 2.5 inch Sata SSD in its place, or you could add an M.2 NVMe SSD in the M.2 slot and have both SSD and HDD. Its best to open the case and make sure the M.2 slot is in tact before ordering the drive. Sometimes (on rare occasion) they have been know to be missing if the unit did not come with M.2 from factory.

Here is the manual specifically for the ce000 series that shows the hardware placement...

Thanks for this question. I'm also planning to do the same. Can you please tell me how you migrated windows to your new m2 ? Or did you reinstall Windows in any other ways?

I cloned the hdd to the m.2 which was pretty easy. I used this link for help https://youtu.be/QZ1odFowlGE
